Hand / foot prints for a newborn

Hiya,

I was wanting to take some hand and foot prints of my new DS. What sort of paint thing should I use given as he is small. I don't want to use anything that might be toxic to him while he is so determined to put his hands in his mouth all the time.

Also, any hints or tips for getting a good print ?

I found that the second print was better as the first one took off the excess paint. I did monthly hand and foot prints from 12 days old and used paint from the Early Learning Centre.

Foot prints are a lot easier than hand prints as littlies don't like unclenching their fists much!

I agree about feet being easier and doing lots but I used an ink pad (like you'd use for rubber stamps) - you don't get lots of excess like with paint.

To open a clenched fist stroke across the knuckles.

I've also made 3D plaster casts of babies' hands and feet - it's really easy, I can let you know how to do it if anyone's interested.

I was at a babyshow last week and the lady who had the stand next to ours had a franchise for magic custard

www.magiccustard.com/

so if you are local to teddington maybe get her details and either she can do it or you can order a set from them ?
