Black paper

Can someone help me find an A2 or A1 sized black paper sketch pad? I've looked everywhere, Ebay, Amazon, hobbycraft (only do up to size A3), Daler Rowney online, various google searches bringing up art supplies in the UK, but cannot find what I want.
I can only find sugar paper (don't want that, want better quality) and it's frustrating the hell out of me!

Thanks for any suggestions at all.

Don't think you can buy online but might be worth giving these lot a ring.

www.jamescropper.com/collection/black-bowston/

They do the paper for the rememberance poppies and also recycle single use coffee cups.

Thank you so much but I think that one looks a bit bespoke (and expensive!).

Looking for something a bit more affordable.

Well you never know until you ask, it's worth a try Smile

As you have found what you are looking for is quite bespoke.

mercurymaze · 05/02/2018 17:15

have you tried rymans?

mumpoints · 05/02/2018 17:21

oops sorry, only up to A3 on the one I found

scarfface · 05/02/2018 17:25

@TheCumbrian I guess it is bespoke & expensive, bloody hell 😆

Thanks Soup - that one works out at just under £1/sheet (Hobbycraft paper which I like but is wrong size is only 10p/sheet to compare)...grrr I had a look on the French site where that comes from but it's not there.

Thanks mumpoints, but that's only up to A3 as well, I want A2 or A1.

I emailed Hobbycraft btw to see if they could supply me in bigger size, will see what they say.

Does it have to be specifically those sizes? Hobbycraft do a lovely spiral bound 20x20 scrapbook which has great quality black paper. We have the black and white versions for drawing books.

Other than that, could you buy separate sheets and have them bound? Universities do binding for about £2.

scarfface · 05/02/2018 17:37

Yes it's the size bit that matters most. I want it for art projects so rather than buying individual sheets (which works out v pricey) I was looking for a sketch pad where you can just tear the pages out.
I might have to settle for sugar paper & then when I'm happy transfer to individual sheets.

Thanks everyone for looking.

out of stock but might gecworth looking at this brand or supplier or could you use sheets of paper and bind yourself?

scarfface · 05/02/2018 17:43

@SandLand oooh thanks for that Ebay link - how did I miss that??? That's 160gsm which is very good quality & only £14.54 for 50 sheets - double checking in case there is a catch but that looks fantastic, thank you so much Thanks

Try Atlantis art materials

SandLand · 05/02/2018 17:47

Ok, this was the other ebay lining found. Couldn't tell the difference, but more choice on this link.

SoupDragon · 05/02/2018 18:24

That eBay one is also on Amazon. If you have Prime for free delivery it would work out cheaper.

I work in print scar, try ringing one of the big suppliers like Antalis or GF Smith.
