Essential oil blends

I'm keen to make some
Blends for friends and am interested in any advice you can give me.

What are your favourite 'clean' smelling blends? Think citrus or pine for a bathroom?

Also, a relaxing blend for someone's bedrooms?

Where do you buy your oils?

Huge thanks!

I blend my own in my bedroom diffuser. I have lavender, sandalwood and mint which is lovely.
I love rose or citrus scents for summer.

In my bathroom anf kitchen I buy reed diffusers and currently have a mandarin and grapefruit one from Bayliss and Harding upstairs and the fake Jo Malone basil one from Aldi in the kitchen.

Is the Aldi one any good?

It's quite nice. Doesn't smell as strong after a couple of days, but nice.

The Fragrant Pharmacy by Valerie Ann Worwood is the best single reference book I know. it's not just the medicinal uses, but has sections on cooking, setting the atmosphere for a room, oils for different moods and ages, cosmetic and bath preparations as far as I can remember.

When I was making bulk gifts for family and friends, I bought mine from id aromatics www.idaromatics.co.uk/

Remember that there's a huge difference between Essential Oils made from natural sources and Fragrance Oils which are cheap often chemical alternatives. Never ever put fragrance oils on the skin, even in dilute form.

Good Luck, I had great fun making all sorts of things. Flowers
