I've just been inspired again and am knitting ds a pirate jumper from the little badgers book. Managed to find it on a blog here must admit not the easiest chart to follow, would have been better if they had put every 10th grid line in bold or a colour( or is it my eyes!!!) Done the back and halfway up the front.

NotQuiteCockney · 19/04/2007 20:25

I'm making squares for next weekend.

And a sweater for DS1, with reindeer on it (reindeer from a chart book, rest of sweater straight Zimmerman).

I limit myself to one or two things at a time, otherwise I'd never finish anything. It's a bit of a rule. Two max, ideally just one.

Log cabin baby blanket and a garter stitch baby cardigan in 4 ply from a Debbie Bliss book. Baby it's for is about a month old . Must get a move on!

Yes, that's it, Pruni.

I should have got together with her, we could have made a perfect LR between us

Umm yes, I haven't done any more BPT even though it's nearly finished. Thank you for the kind words about the summer tweed- maybe I should finish and then see.

crochet is boring

you do the same thing for ages and ages and it looks like wire anyway

am in whiney mood

I probably have every knitting book under the sun but am grumpy, i need an instant gratification lovely project, I think

ZisforZebra · 19/04/2007 22:03

I'm making socks for DS2. I've made 3 pairs with two needles and am now trying a 4-needle pair. It's much easier and there is no horrible sewing up at the end.

Fillyjonk - how about a little wrap cardigan? There is a nice one in s'n'b nation.

I looked at it, but there are colours. I don't do colours, if I can help it.

I might try to knit myself a snail hat - the snail hat is very gratifying and nice. I still want to make myself a sweater, sometime.

NotQuiteCockney · 19/04/2007 22:08

Rug goes on the floor, yes.

Google definition has it as:

a blanket knitted or crocheted in strips or squares; sometimes used as a shawl (among other things).

To be fair, though 'afghan' is an old word, probably not used by young people? And the iconic afghan would be a crocheted squares one. (Still not a rug, though)
