What size for a rectangular baby blanket ?

I am crocheting a baby blanket for a friend. What dimensions would you use for a rectangular one? I am not following a specific pattern.

Shop bought cellular blankets for babies tend to be around 70 x 90 cm, so if you are intending it for use in a cot, I would go with something around that size.
