Saggy bobbles on knitted bobble hats

Hello, does anyone have any advice on how to avoid saggy bobbles? I sew them on as close to the hat as I can, and weave the thread all along the hat seam, but they soon start to sag and end up dangling on a couple of centimetres of the thread. I would love to be able to stop this happening. Can anyone help?

Bump - same problem here!

Firstly are you sure they're not too heavy? Otherwise, I leave a long tail when I start to make the pompom, then leave another at the end.

Thread each long end through the top of the hat in separate places as far apart as you can without it being noticeable and then weave in, so that your bobble is anchored in two places. Works for me!

Belated thanks Lou, that's very helpful and I'll give it a try - thank you!
