Christmas Eve box paint help

I'm taking on my first craft project, I'm making a Christmas Eve box for my baby boy. Can anyone recommend a good 'Christmas red' acrylic paint for a wooden box?

I find it really hard to get a good red but I've just been using Americana multi surface satin by DecoArt in dark scarlet and that's a lovely rich red, just right for Christmas . I probably bought it in Hobbycraft.
