Hot glue to fix oven dish?

Last night the lid of my lovely earthenware Le Crueset casserole dish fell out of the cupboard and broke in half!
Am thinking of putting it back together using my hot glue gun.
Does anybody know whether it would still be able to go in the oven afterwards? I'm thinking hot glue would work well but surely it would melt in the oven cos it's hot glue

It will definitely not work. It's going to melt and go everywhere. You can get specialist ceramic glue which might work but you'd need to check what temperatures it can withstand.

Thank you Parsnips! It seemed like a good idea at the time but realised the flaw in my plan really pretty quickly.

You can buy replacement knobs.

Contact LeCreuset. They might send you a replacement. Has been known.
