Knitting gauge off

Hi knitting MNers

So i thing I've done something wrong. Making a cardy with different wool to recommended so i checked gauge. Thought was close enough less than 1cm different. But now measurements are all off i think.

Gauge should be 26 sts to 10 cm. My row is 74 sts and is measuring 33-34cm. 74 sts should measure bout 26-27cm i think.

The equivalent sts for 33-34cm would be 88.

Length wise gauge is fine 28 rows to 10cm.

Should i start again and adjust my stitches to measure 26cm or can i just make a bigger cardy and knit extra rows to accommodate extra width?

Haven't cast off back so can undo easily.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks

I would start again if you haven't done too much, but if you feel like that's too painful then keep going and see what happens!
