How do I start a craft group?

I used to go to a craft group in a local church in the last town I lived in.

I'd like to start one in my new town as I've got a big enough room.

I don't know anyone yet - any ideas where to start Confused

Are there any local craft, art or fabric shops you could advertise at? Or maybe libraries? I think I'd start by putting up some posters in places like that, and maybe set up a Facebook group to help with organisation and to give people more information (if you do Facebook).
Good luck! If you are in the north of Scotland I will come, I love a good craft session!

I rented a hall from a local church. But recently found a brilliant venue.

You will need a good Facebook chat page. I have 402 members in chat

My group has 40 girls who come to group. We usually get 31 each month but others dip in and out. I run a shop at it to make some money.

I provide tea, coffee and cake. The girls pay £7 each for their space. 2 people per table. This gives everyone room to craft in

You will need insurance too. I started with 8 folk. Never thought it would take off and now run a crafters bootsale 2x a year as well. It's brilliant.

I sometimes teach at the group. I am a craft demonstrator anyway for a big company. So it's not difficult for me to do that.
