What colour to Dye this grey lace dress?

I have a dress very like this. Nice dress but awful colour on me. I was thinking to dye it burgundy or brown. Would that work? The one I have has a lot of silver sequins on it too...what colour would be best?

Anything but brown.

If it is a man made fibre it's very unlikely the colour will take! And all the different parts may end up different shades/colours, and not uniform, eg the zip, lace, lining, thread.

Blue, indigo perhaps?

I'd just go black.

What's it made of? The sequins are probably sewn on with polyester thread so even if the dress takes up the dye, the thread holding the sequins will stay grey.

Dylon have a nice colour called French Lavender.

Yeah, it's polyester, nylon and spandex...so could end up being a woeful mess. But I'll never wear it the way it is.

Unfortunately dye rarely produces the results you'd hope for.

eBay it, add the cost of the dye you didn't use to ruin it and buy something you like.

Polyester won't dye well unless you get one that is specifically made for polyester ( which I think exists but have never actually seen it).
