I am a beginner knitter although haven't lifted a needle in months (I go through phases) I am feeling very down and frustrated (not sure why) and have the sudden urge to knit. What can I knit that will give me a quick lift?

I knitted this recently. Very quick and very simple.

I love it.

A hat is always a very satisfying thing to knit and so quick.

Baby botees??

This is the simplest cardigan ever - you knit a rectangular square; the 'sleeves' are formed by 2 short seams and the drape of the wool.
Use this cheap as chips wool

Darnit, I now want to knit! Grin

Oh that's beautiful, reminds me of Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat!

Ooh I like that blanket cardigan too! Damnit! I want to do both Grin

Well, do them both! Grin

That shawl is gorgeous and would be quite simple.

What I like about the cardigan is that it feels like a hug when you put it on...

I am going to a festival if I recover from surgery in time mean Grin, thought it would be nice for that if nothing else but I really like it.

Very odd but I turn to knitting in times of bad news. I bought the pattern/wool in a shop after seeing a consultant and knitted ferociously until it was done. I think it cost £28, wool and pattern, but I needed it on the day I bought it.

Odd Pins knitting is quite quick to complete things

Quick question about that Cardie - does it mean you knit two strands of wool together ? Confused Or am I being daft?

I have just realised I bought the most gorgeous navy fluffy wool months ago and never used it!! It would be perfect for a hug cardi! Shock it was meant to be! Grin

Oh it's on circular needles - I have no idea how to use them - I can only knit scarves (badly Grin)

PacificDogwod · 01/08/2017 21:53

You don't have to use circular needles - it's just rows, back and forth, but circular needles make the sheer weight of the growing cardie more manageable.
Circular needles are really easy to use btw - i much prefer them.

And yes, 2 balls of wall knitted together at the same time on huge needles. I cannot remember the size I used but they were thick.

Squares - any size. Experiment with patterns. Make them all the same size, and then sew them into a blanket.
