Making lamp shades

Has anyone made a lampshade ? I've sent off for a kit and have to find my own fabric.

Not sure where I will get the actual lamp from though. I'd love to set up a little business (if I'm any good at it) making them to order.

What do MN reckon ?

I've stripped back and re-covered metal frame type lampshades with new fabric and trim before.

That's a good idea . I'll have a scout round for some old ones.
