So, I've seen caron cakes yarn in hobbycraft often and was just wondering if anyone knew if the colours fade together or does it go from one colour to the next with no fading?

for example, this one - does the purple fade to blue?

It does say it is variegated on the hobbycraft site, but wanted to know if anyone has used them in real life so to speak and how does it look when used (either knitted or crocheted)

The colour changes are really abrupt

These are done with Caron Cakes (both crocheted)

Forgot to say - the Caron Cakes really ooze with colour when they're washed so make sure you set the colour with vinegar or use colour catcher sheets when you wash the item.

Thank you @MooseBeTimeForSummer and @MaitlandGirl

I think I'll give them a miss then, was either going to use them in a blanket that was going on our bed, or as amigurumi items. Much prefer those that do fade into each colour

They crochet up really thickly, so they make lovely warm blankets but I think they'd be too thick to use for amigurumi.
