Hey Whizz!
Quick question for you. I'm making a long necklace (the sort you can wrap around - there's one on my website) I usually string it on leather because the beads are quite heavy. I'm making one for a friend's girlfriend (they live abroad so she's only seen the ones on the website) and she said she'd like one but possibly strung on silk. I don't think it would work because the jumprings would rub on the silk and break it and it's not thick enough. Can you think of any alternative to leather which I could use. I've drawn a blank. Thanks!

hiya - try thin (1mm) cotton thong - its supposed to be more hard wearing than leather. I use it as a 'vegetarian' option on some of my necklaces & you can get lots of colours

Thanks Whizz! Does it wear on glass beads - that would be my concern.

I would think if anything, it would be stronger than the same thickness of leather. Its certainly less stretchy - I haven't tried anything else at the mo to make lariats
