Wicked!

I'd love to have a go at a spinning wheel!

So would DD1.

I'd like to learn to knit, but I'm left-handed and can't seem to get the hang of it.

DD1, however, appears right-handed at this task and already holds yarn for her grandmother.

I bought my MIL some wool from the Hebrides that a one-off stall was selling in the farmer's market last year. Ooooo, it was SO lovely and soft. And £11 for a skein of it!

But she made a very lovely hat for herself .

Glad you made back your stall costs + more well done you!
I want to do more fairs (as I to have all the stuff now!) but each one I contact round here seems to have enough jewellery stalls. Grr. Having said that, I went to one (to suss out competition) at the weekend & there was only 1 'handmade' jewellery stall, the others I think must have bought stuff to sell - which in my book is not craft!
I want to run mine as a business, tell the taxman, sort out my website & pay for an ad on here - do things properly!! Its scary though !!

Yes maybe. I also make cards but no hope of getting a stall with those either. I have put jewellery on cards in the past too.
At least your stuff sounds quite unique, certainly compared to round here. I'll keep trying

Whizzz, do you think people are put off buying handmade crds etc because there are so many people trying to sell?

Round here nearly every fair has some miserable looking person with a stack of cards covered in peeloffs and/or decoupage - its no wonder people get put off!

Id love to have seen your stall though, Muminfife!

FillyjonkIsMilitantAboutFruit · 19/03/2007 20:44

is debbie bliss bad, miff?

also-are you planning to sell your stuff any time soon?

(I need to destash first but...I can dream. If so tell me more pls!)

Whizzz · 19/03/2007 21:58

I think so Fubsy - and people dont want to spend much on cards so the only cards you can make to sell at £1 are really basic ones so they all look samey. The ones that you can make to look really special just won't sell at £2 or £3

If I win the lotto, I'll sponsor your yarn shop if you can successfully teach me to knit .

Ah, cheers, Pruni! An exasperated lady from Nova Scotia once tried to teach me to knit and also suggested Continental style.
