Want to make a chunky blanket but have only have knitted with thin wool I've picked up in a shop. Can anyone tell me what I need to good to find the heavier wool and where's a good place to buy from? TIA!

You can usually buy chunky wool in any yarn/crafty shop (even my local discount shop has it)

Otherwise, There are loads of options online, such as Deramores or Wool Warehouse

Just buy it from anywhere that sells wool? Confused or just double up DK. Just get big needles too.

caulkhead I'm only an amateur haha I've only ever knitting scarves and a couple of patches and wasn't sure about weights etc so thought I'd ask for rather than order the wrong things. The only shops that sell wool near me is a charity shop and Poundland and that's all thin as string stuff! I've looked on Amazon but pics don't really seem to show which wools are thicker than the others

Ah! Your OP makes more sense now I understand the shop part is a charity shop.

Get chunky or superchunky.
