d#you mean like salt dough?
I'll be back, with recipe soon, made some at xmas

the phrase you're searching for is 'salt dough'
Recipe stolen from Hunker:

225g/8ox/2cups plain flour
2 teaspoons cooking oil
100g/4oz/0.5 cup of salt
100ml/4floz/0.5 cup of water
Preheat oven to GM4/180c/350f
Put all ingredients in a bowl and mix into a dough with your hands.
Add a little more water if necessary.
Knead for about 10minutes, roll out flat, about 5mm thick.
Cut out and place on a baking tray - make a hole in the top for hanging cord (use a kebab skewer or similar).
Bake for 20 minutes. Remove to a wire rack to cool. When cool, add paint, glue, glitter etc.

Salt Dough:

300g plain flour
1 tablespoon oil
300g salt
approx 200ml water

Mix all infgredients in large bowl - dough should feel pliable - add more water if necessary

Turn out onto floured board and knead thoroughly until smooth and elastic

Best made the day before you need it - it turns less grainy the longer it's kept. Store in a plastic bag in the fridge - if it goes a bit soft add some flour before use.

Cook small items for 10 - 20 mins on a lightly-oiled baking sheet at Gas 4/180 C.

Larger items are best cooked overnight at Gas half (can't typefractions!) 130 C.

This is out of the Usborne Book of Make and Play - I haven't tried it myself but good luck!
