I am trying to get my fabric cut out for my sewing class on Wednesday but I'm a bit stuck! The pattern pieces have an arrow saying straight grain, does this have to go parallel to the selvedge on the fabric? Or perpendicular? The fabric is jersey if that makes a difference. I can post photos of the suggested pattern layout (which looks to me like it's telling me to put piece 2 across the width of my fabric but that would mean the 'straight grain' arrow is running perpendicular to the selvedge.
