Cushion covers

I have some square sided foam to make cushions for DS's high chair, and will be covering them with a pvc oilcloth.

Would it be best to use a separate strip of fabric for each edge, or can I use one piece to go all the way round (less cutting and sewing)?

Also, any tips for setting up my sewing machine for that weight of fabric?

Many thanks

I think a seam around the side would sit nicer. You might find that the oilcloth doesn't bend very well so you need to seam to turn a corner.
You'll need to use a triangular needle to stop the fabric ripping
