Yes, good point. That can be an issue.

I did add a couple of buttons because without them it kind of slides off my shoulders (and I have very square shoulders...) and I kept having to tug at it.

Took only a few hours to do and totally mindless straight ahead knitting, perfect for when watching TV at the same time.

I'm a beginner knitter do you think I could do this? I'm sill getting to grips with the notation of knitting patterns !

If you can knit and pearl, you can do this

You don't need to 'read' a pattern - I am a good knitter, but English is not my first language and even after 23 years of living here, I still cannot get to grips with English knitting patterns

Basically, cast on 73 stitches, do 7-8 rows alternate stitches knit/pearl, then approx 73 rows knit one way/pearl back (stocking stitch), then knit pearl again for the other edge. Cast off and sew together as shown on the photos. It looks impossible, but when you put it on in drapes beautifully.
I am still baffled by how good it looks for how easy it was to do.

What wool did you use? I've tried it one which says 4mm on the outside and one which says 10mm on the pack. Ones too thick. Ones too thin. I've got 15mm needles.

You must be super fast to knit it in a few hours! It took me almost half a hour to do about theee rows...

I bought 12 balls, needed about 11 maybe.

I knit quite tightly so my cardigan is not as loose as the one I linked to, but very warm.

I do knit fast - lots of practice
But also, I knit the 'European' way with the thread over my left hand which I find IS faster.

I might try that way. I knit really fast but I purl knit super slow

I've never knitted before but I feel an urge to try with this one! I don't even have any needles or anything & would have to look up videos to learn :) how basic is it

Knitting does not come more basic
You need to learn to knit and to pearl.
What you are knitting is a rectangle, no fancy moves required

It is a rather large rectangle.
If I were you, I'd start with something small, like a pot holder, or just have a go and see, just as long as you don't get disheartened when it takes a while.

Look at the pictures of the link I posted upthread - it is a rectangle, nothing more, nothing less. It is like a very large potholder
The 'sleeves' are really just armholes and the drape of the kitted fabric makes it appear very much like extreme bat-wings.

It IS genius. And cosy. And easy.

I've crocheted a couple of these - one for me and one for mum, doing another one for me now. I just love a flumpety jumper, so snuggly.
