Easy crochet patterns for selling / fundraising

I've just started to learn to crochet and have also just signed up to join a 'virtual marathon' to support a friend running 2 actual marathons for Cancer Research.

I'd love to find something easy, a bit quirky and possibly even slightly relevant which I could sell to help fundraising.

I thought of beanie hats to sell to everyone else running the virtual marathon (basically you just do a month's worth of running that adds up to a marathon distance) but I think these would take too long to make so couldn't make many / much money.

As I'm new, my experience of what you can crochet is very limited so I'd love any ideas!

Maybe a headband / sweatband?? How long do you think a simple one would take and can anyone recommend somewhere good for patterns?

You could make small amigurumi creatures. They'd be quick to make and people might buy them for charity.

For example: little owls

I know it's not directly relevant but that sort of thing would be quick.

You could do creatures that are supposed to be fast.

Oh they are very cute! Yes, perhaps that could be a generic sale thing possibly at DCs school - doesn't have to be related to the marathon!

Be aware that those instructions are written in American terminology.

Amigurumi is usually pretty simple as long as you know how to increase and decrease.

There are loads of patterns for small cute stuffed things online.

Lots of cute hedgehog patterns, for example

And some beginners advice and several easy cute things to make. The little monsters would be really popular with children at DS2's school.
