In the eighties I had some strips of coloured and patterned plastic that you cut up and heated in the oven to make decorations, jewellery etc. Does anyone remember this and what it was called?

Each strip was about the size of a bookmark and some of the patterns were beautiful - especially the metallic ones.

Or was it just me?

Search for shrinkies or shrinkles. - Not exactly what you're describing but not far off. I'll get a link, two ticks...

I ALSO remember this and almost thought it was a false memory. I know it's not shrink plastic - it's different to that.
Following with interest!

Close to what you were thinking?

It was called 'friendly plastic' I think. I loved the pearly ones.

I'm back - had to tidy up. Friendly plastic rings a bell. The pearly ones were indeed very lovely. Will go through the suggestions now.

I had some of these too - I don't think I ever made anything with them because the colours were so lovely that I didn't want to mess them up by melting them!
