Knitters - your advice please

I saw this blanket in M&P today and fell in love.

How would I do it? Just one row in each colour, garter stitch? There seem to be 6 colours - too many to carry up the side?

Or shall I just buy it?

well you could get around the sewing in by sewing a border over the edges, like they have iyswim.

That's lovely- I agree with Jura that it would be hopeless to carry the colours without an edging, but it would look more traditional with a satin border, wouldn't it? Nice.
