Can I make a shawl with this?

I impulse bought two hanks of something called Drops Lace at the Handmade fair. It's quite a fine, soft thread, a mix of 70% baby alpaca and 30% mulberry silk, weight 100g, length 800 metres, and the recommendation is to use 3mm needles. I'm thinking of making a lacy shawl with it, but they're different colours and I'm not great at inventing patterns. I'm wondering whether I can make a shawl with one hank on its own. Does anyone have any experience of this and how much you can make with it?

If you go to Ravelry and search patterns, you can put in the name of the yarn and the yardage you have and it will bring up results for projects that use that amount of yarn. That should answer your question. If you enter the yardage for both balls and filter for 'colourwork' that will bring up patterns in more than one colour!

That sounds good - many thanks, twofingers.
