Leather trousers - can I hem with glue?

Anyone tried this? There are various YouTube videos which seem indicate a good outcome, but I'm very nervous.

Also, I've sent off for Gutermann HT2 gabric glue: anyone used it?

I should be very grateful for your views ...

It probably doesn't matter what sort of glue because as far as I know you can't (or shouldn't?) wash leather trousers, so the glue should stay stuck.

Sorry if that's gross.

H'mmm

I wonder if the leather-cleaning process would cause the glue to run or stain ?

The original hems were glued, but you'd have to be over six foot to stick with them. Maybe I'll ask my local shoe repair place.
