Big pot for dyeing clothes?

I think I've got beyond Dylon and want to try some proper dyeing with acid/procion mx type dyes. I've got both cotton and wool to dye.

For the stove top method I need a huge garment size pot that can go on the stove but isn't a cooking pot right? What's the cheapest thing to get? A big catering stockpot (e.g. 20 litres ) from ebay? Metal bucket from Wickes? I'm assuming a proper dye pot from a dyeing supplier would be £££.

Preserving pans for jam making are massive and are often on offer at this find of year. It's the kind of thing people buy and then leave to gather dust after making jam once; worth asking on freecycle or your local FB selling page, or looking on eBay.

Thanks. I do have a stainless jam pan but I use it for jam! The older ones tend to be aluminium which reacts with the dye. TBH I'm looking for something about twice the capacity. I am looking at big catering pots on ebay about £20, I think I'm going to have to just invest.
