Right it's not that, it's about 10 times as thick as that. I was just about to order it and I looked at patterns on eBay and not much thicker than normal wool, maybe about twice as thick.

I seen a pattern tonight that was knitted on 25mm needles and used three strands of the chunky wool, it looked lovely, i'm going to do it

If I were going to do some extreme knitting I think I'd opt for a fence.

Omg I've gone mental and ordered twine off bad Amazon to knit that fence

Maybe not helpful but could you French knit some do and then knot up the result?

I saw a woman at a craft show once who was knitting with strips of fabric rather than yarn and needles so thick that they had to rest on the floor. They were like fence posts. She did say that this sort of knitting is like going to the gym and gives you mscles in places you didn't know you had.
