Hi,

I thought I'd brought a beginer kit but looking at it its bigeer than I thought and expects me to know how to read a key, and have a frame to hold the cloth in already.
Can anyone recommend some real beginers kits please?

Some of the cross stich magazines often have a free kit which eases you in gently as it won't be too big. Other than that look for a design that has large blocks of a single colour. You can get by without a frame, especially on a smaller project.
Another good tip is to photocopy the chart and then mark pencil lines every 10 squares to help you keep track of where you are and mark off rows.

The key will be for the colours I expect. A good tip here is to colour the key, or stick one of the corresponding threads next to the key do you can tell easily at a glance which colour you are meant to be using. Again, I would recommend looking for a kit with only 4 or 5 colours in it to start with.
