Can you suggest some yarn?

I'm thinking of making this www.allaboutami.com/post/134925607306/thegranitecape so am looking for yarn. Can anyone help?

It needs to be fairly cheap (certainly not Debbie bliss type prices!)
Don't mind the fibre mix but something not hairy or itchy
Soft and snuggly
Machine washable
Not bobbly after a few washes/ wears

Does it exist?

Why don't you just use the suggested Lion Brand yarn? It is only £4.05 a ball from Deramores. There are some nice colours.

I have always liked the King Cole wools for a reasonably priced option. You can get 100% acrylic or some with about 20% wool

I'd check out the Yarns tab on Ravelry.

www.ravelry.com/

Do Advanced Search with all your criteria.

The Drops Big Merino is lovely and good value. I think it's a comparable thickness of yarn.

I can't comment on whether it bobbles though.

I tend to go to home bargains, b&m or pound stretcher where you can get huge balls of yarn for very little. Can be limiting in colour but a good place for a rummage round

I should add I hot a huge ball of cream aran yarn for £3 from b&m and it's a good thickness for a shrug/Cardi type thing

How about looking at Sirdar Snuggly baby yarn. Washes and wears well, very soft and usually about £3.30 a ball, lots of colours. I'm supposing weight would be 4ply? But its also available in DK

Stylecraft. Most definately, its the best affordable acrylic and is very soft.

Stylecraft special Aran would be a good match for their suggested yarn.

ah, did I get that wrong on weight... sorry!
