Can anyone help me with this knitting pattern please?

The instructions have 2 lots of brackets which is confusing me. I start off with 99 sts:

K4,[k1,m1(k3, m1,k1, m1) three times]; rep from to last 4 sts, k4. 148 sts

Huh?

Knit 4.
(Knit 1, Make 1, Knit 3, Make 1, Knit 1, Make 1, Knit 3, Make 1, Knit 1, Make 1, Knit 3, Make 1, Knit 1, Make 1)
Repeat section in brackets until last 4 stitches, Knit 4.

Just make sure you end up with the right number of stitches.
