keeping roman blinds up

my mum has made a roman blind for me and as suggested in a book used double sided velcro to attach it to a wooden plinth on the wall. the problem is the velcro isnt strong enough and so the blind keeps falling down.

is there any other way we can attach it.

I had the same problem when I made some for our old house. I got some upholstery tacks (from John Lewis I think) and used these to attach it to the wooden batten. Obviously these would be visible but if they are put in neatly and equally spaced might look ok - the ones I used were black and the blind was cream and it looked ok.

Is the velcro coming apart or coming away from the plinth IYSWIM?

we have cheap roman blinds from ikea and rather than having the wooden baton screwed to the wall and the blind velcro'd to it, the wooden baton runs inside the top hem of the blind and has two screw eyes screwed into it through the fabric. There are two screw hooks on the wall that the eyes hang from. Very stable!
