Making loose covers for tub chairs

Hi - wonder if someone can help me? MIL has tub chairs like the one in the pic but the leatherette is all peeling and looks awful, I wanted to make some slip covers to go over them but not sure how the pattern would look with the curved back. I have done similar slip covers before but not in a curved shape and am a bit confused. I don't want to reupholster or anything, just make a cover that will slot over the whole chair and can be taken off easily to wash etc. Any help much appreciated

The side/ back piece will be straight at the bottom, and very gently curved at top. I would personally make a CB opening fastened by velcro or other fastening, to nip in fabric at the bottom of the chair, as the chair slopes in a bit towards the floor. I would also make box cushions, as a loose cover will slip around in the seat on top of leatherette.
Best thing to do is make a toile - get an old sheet, cut into rough pattern pieces (but bigger) then pin each section together along the panels of the chair, mark the edges of each pattern section using a pen, when you unpin you'll have your rough pattern pieces. Neaten up and keep double checking by fitting against the chair, then add SA.

Choose something with very small pattern as you will need to put panels in inside back in order for the fabric to sit smoothly. Not the easiest of projects but pin lots and double check before sewing

Thanks FBG - yes I am definitely choosing a forgiving fabric that has no stripes or patterns that need to be a certain way up!
