Anybody have any luck selling things on Ebay ?

Bought myself a Janome 4400 sewing machine and having only had a tinkle on my friends beforehand, (just making a simple cushion cover, total novice), I've got the bug.

I've ordered fat quarters and a basic sewing pattern for bags to get me started, but I want to go bigger eventually.

Do people find they have luck selling homemade/machine made stuff on Ebay?

Was looking at curtains, tablecloths, cushion covers, bed linen, childrens clothing, summer dresses. Is it worth me trying? What sells the most/best? Any help appreciated :)

No experience as a seller myself but I'd imagine Etsy would be better than eBay? In any case, bumping for you :)

Thanks, I'll have a look at Etsy.

Was thinking of Ebay as I already have an account.

Thanks for bumping :)

I did thing about it in the past but the must declare as self employed thing put me off to be honest. Even if you only sell a couple of things you make a month it counts as a business (where as selling old stuff you have lying around the house doesn't count as such).

There are also issues if you sell clothing you have made and legal requirements to have tags containing washing instructions, fabric composition etc.

I would say if you are thinking of selling stuff you make then local facebook selling pages are another option and would cut out all the selling fees from the likes of eBay or etsy.
