Emergency help....how do you fray a fabric edge?

And stop it so it doesn't fray entirely - just a few cms

I haven't got glue & it needs finishing tonight!!

Sorry I'm no help really as only thing I can think of is to sew just where you want it to stop fraying?

Run a line of stitching where you want the fraying to stop, then fray away.

I found some nearly matching bias binding & used that - I was on a time thingie & managed to finish them all
