Tilda 'skin' fabric alternatives

Am getting ready for C*** and want to make some of the santa's and angels in the Tilda Christmas Ideas book.

Anyone found good (cheap) alternatives for the Tilda skin fabric? I fainted at the price of it!

Has a quick google but lots of specialist doll maker websites and not sure what's comparable...

Assume it's linen, so just need a similar shade..?

Hi. I've made various Tilda dolls using a thickish cream or white cotton and I've also used a skin tone suede feel fabric. I got them all quite cheaply from Boyes. They all worked out quite well.
Photo is an angel made with the suede, she's a bit tatty now as she's about three years old.
