What kind of window covering shall I make and how?

I have a small window which needs dressing, about 24" wide by 39" long.
I have just bought a length of what looks like sari silk in beautiful turquoise with golden spots. I would like to use this but don't have to!
I am thinking I could just use a net wire and hand stitch the covering and put a thing on the wall to tie it back ( am saying this because it would be easy, the fabric is fine and I don't think it would really like having curtain tape attached to it for hanging.
I could buy a cafe pole and just do a deep hem at the top so that the pole goes through it.
What do you think? It is an occasional window in a study bedroom, the main window has wooden Venetian blinds.

It sounds nice...I have a similar window in a room I don't need privacy in...I used some bunting...nothing else. It looks lovely.
