Making a cushion

I have completed a cross stitch design in aida and want to make it into a cushion for DS but I have no idea what I need or how to go about it. Does anyone have any tips?

I'm a bit of a novice and I do have a sewing machine just to make life harder!

Get yourself a metre or oddment of fabric and a cushion pad. Sew strips of fabric round the embroidery to make it a decent size, then make a back panel with an overlapped opening. Sew together around the edge, job done. Example here

Alternatively, my MIL just buys a cheap plain cushion cover and hand-sews the embroidery piece on the front! She's perfectly able to sew all sorts of things, but likes a quick solution Grin
