Highlighter Pen on cross stitch canvas

Hi,
Any tips on the best way to remove a splodge of pink highlighter pen from the middle of my cross stictch canvas? Annoyingly it is in an area that won't be covered by any stitches.

Try leaving it in the sun.

You might want to cover up your stitches whilst doing this though to make sure they don't fade too.

Surgical spirit? Have you any spare canvas to test on? If not I'd test on an inconspicuous area ie the very edge of the canvas
