Help! My sewing machine's possessed!

Ok, probably not actually possessed but last night I was sewing, took my foot off the pedal to chat to DH for a minute & the next thing I know it's going full pelt & had to be switched off to make it stop. Anyone know what the problem is?

It's a Husqvarna S215, if that makes any difference! Confused

Faulty electrics...it needs a service.

Something stuck under the pedal perhaps?

Freaky though!

You need a new foot control, or take it to be serviced. It's not the actual machine.

I agree that it is the foot control. This happened to my friend. A few days later she brought it round to me for me to help her out. It was on my kitchen table. We went into my sewing room bit to find something and the foot pedal went up in smoke.

White electrical smoke was pouring out of the thing, the room was filled with it.

Be careful, don't leave it plugged in.

Obviously a machine going up in smoke and the dangers that go with it are awful. I hope you were all OK.

On the other hand, am I the only one who thinks 'Oooh, I'll have to get a new sewing machine'? BlushWink

Yes, my friend had ordered a new one before she left my house!!

It was only the foot pedal mind you but she used it as an excuse to buy a new one.

Scary though when you think about it. I often leave things plugged in!
