Dd (3.11) has decided she'd like to make a puppet this afternoon - does anyone have any ideas for a little craft project, please? I'm all out of inspiration!

quick idea (courtesy of doodle doo etc)

paint a face on a paper plate, add whatever you want, hair etc then tape a ruler or a wooden spoon to the back of it and there you go, a puppet!

the classic sock
paper bag with corners twisted to make ears and rubber band to hold it round wrist
old glove (other one of pair has been lost etc) - glue 3 middle fingers together and glue paper face shape on them - thumb and little finger make arms.
old glove again but stick three middle fingers into yoghurt pot, small box or similar.
or just stick box over three middle fingers - v good with hole cut for mouth so one finger is the tongue

oh and pipecleaners make good whiskers for the paper bag cat

old (eg tennis) ball with face drawn on and hole cut to stick on finger.

easiest of all (can't believe I forgot this one) is faces drawn with marker pen on the back of plastic cutlery - excellent on aeroplanes.

i'll top that Mrs B - draw faces on your fingers!

great ideas - I've got lots of paper plates (erm...and fingers..) to draw on

I can tell dd watches too much cbeebies because she went nad got some paper, folded it in half, asked for some sellotape to stick it together, and has made her own little hand puppet! (actually, she made 2, so I'm typing this one handed!) She must have got that from doodledoo!
