Baby bootees - what colours should not be used?

I have just been given a huge bagful of wool and a copy of a really easy-peasy booted pattern. There are only small amounts of some of the colours, not enough to to do much more than a little flower or some of the aforementioned bootees. Obviously, pastels are ok but what colours aren't? For example, there is a darkish green, a bright golden yellow, some beige. Would anyone want bootees on those colours are would they be just yuk?

Try them and see?

How easily would they un-do to do something else if they were awful?

The yellow doesn't sound toooo bad.

I think they would be pretty easy to undo, the pattern is very simple. I just don't want to be left with a load of crappy old bootees on my hands that nobody wants? Or be the subject of appalled and embarrassed discussions along the lines of "come and have a look what Flossy gave us - OMG!"

Could you knit little (dolly sized maybe) blankets from the random colours? My dd's love bits like that.

Could the beige be the nude heel of the baby world?

whst anout knitting dolls clothes. I had an excellent pattern for barbie and action man and knitted beige combat trousers for ds action man and skirts and wedding dress for barbie

bruffin's idea would also go down very well with my two. dp's mam knitted them some dolls clothes last Christmas & dd2 is constantly pestering me to dress/undress her dolls (she's perfectly able to do it herself - just lazy)

Fizzzog you may well be right! Now anyone wants to commission some delightful nude bootees?
