Can I get a copy of a discontinued pattern

I'm not sure how Ravelry works. I would like a copy of a pattern called Down by Kim Hargreaves in a book called Misty, which is discontinued. Does anyone know how I could get a copy? Thanks

I have just had a look on Ravelry. There is another pattern which is very similar - by Kim Hargreaves called Aimee - which is for sale. But it is really just a simple jumper and the stripes are made by using 2 strands of wool for the darker stripes and one strand for the lighter one. What do you need to know about ravelry ? I am sure plenty of people on here can explain things if I can't.

Designers can choose to sell their patterns as PDFs through Ravelry if they (and their publishers) wish, or they can just list the patterns there with the source so people can go and buy it outside Rav if they wish. It's basically a giant index of patterns.

The book is available for a cool hundred quid on Amazon, so I think your best bet might be try and order a copy in to your local library. You might get lucky and someone here has a copy of the book.

I must say it is a lovely pattern - Aimee is similar not with the same open work sections. I think if you dig about on Rav you'll find some patterns which have elements of this in - the lace bits look like stack yarn over/k2togs? A real shame that one isn't offered as a PDF.

Thank you both for the answers that's really helpful. I wasn't sure if you could possibly swap copies of patterns with others on there. But then I read this morning that you should not ask other members for patterns. Can you order patterns in to your library? Also, really like the Echoes book. There is a similar pattern called Ebb and other lovely ones in there too.
