I want to make this for DD but it's Australian and it says to use a queen sized flat bed sheet, according to Wikipedia the measurements of an Aus queen flat sheet are 245 × 274 cm (97 × 108 in). So I need enough fabric to equal that. I just can't work it out Confused Maths has never been my strong point :(

approx 247cm x...will tell you in a mo...

never mind, you had cm already!

I think, 6m of 45 inch wide fabric.

May be worth getting HQ to shift to chat to check my maths though.

& I think you would have skinny ish bits for cushions if you cba to do something like that.

you can either buy sheeting which is double width at 108 inches wide (274cm) and buy two and half mtrs or buy 54 inch wide fabric (140cm) and you will need 5 mtrs. cut the 54 inch fabric into two 2.50 mtr lengths and sew the together. that will make it approx 280cm wide and 2.50 long.

if you use 45 inch wide fabric you can sew two lengths of 2.50 mts long together as I've said above but it won't quite be 274cm wide-it will be 228cm wide. you could buy another 2.50 mtr length so you have 3 strips sewn together that will give you the right length (so 7.50mtrs total) and it will be 135 inches (340cm) wide

or you could just buy a super king sized flat sheet. that's big enough at 280cm x 290cm.

TheCunnyFunt · 23/04/2015 20:35

Hmmm ok, having looked, I think my best (and cheapest :o ) option is to buy a white super king flat sheet off ebay at £12.49 and dye/paint it.

Thank you for your help everyone :)

Of course, you could always go the sheet option Grin

Hope it turns out well!
