I'm half planning to make view c on this pattern into a Cinderella dress for dd2.

It needs approx 3.5m fabric but I want to do the drapey bits in voile or organza (depending what I have left) and the centre panel in sparkly blue stuff.

I just have no idea how to work out how much organza to buy. Or if the 2m ish of blue I'll have leftover from Elsa dresses will be enough for the skirt and rest of the bodice Confused . I'm not going to do sleeves on it. I'm going to stitch some puffy flowers I've spied on ebay along the armholes so don't need fabric for those.

Can anyone help me work out if I'll have enough blue and how much organza I might need for the drapey bits, please Smile

Have you bought the pattern already? If so, lay out the pattern pieces and work out from them how much fabric they will take. If not, buy the pattern! (Or re you not going to use that pattern if you don't have enough fabric?)

I haven't bought it yet. It's sitting in my amazon basket until I have the £6 spare for it, just wanted to work out if I could get away with just using up what I have left.

I'll pack my enthusiasm back into it's box until I buy it to work out from Grin

I have just replied to your other thread - you could always try with what you have and if necessary add a 'panel' at the back of the skirt (or two at the sides) in something that is either a close match, or a contrast, perhaps something that brings the other fabric you are using together - that way you might only need to buy 1/2 metre more.
