Easy sewing patterns for a beginner?

I have a sewing machine and a stash of supplies etc but so far have confined myself to making curtains, cushions, aprons, bags and other small projects. I'd love to start making some clothes for my 2yo dd but have no idea where to start. Can anyone recommend some easy beginners patterns that aren't too expensive (as there is a high chance I'll make one, haye the experience and never do it again!)

I have just made a couple of these for my DDs. Simple to make and a good confidence builder!

Sewdirect.com have a half price sale this weekend, they sell McCalls, Butterick and Vogue patterns. Backstitch.co.uk have a great range of childrens patterns as do thevillagehaberdashery.co.uk. Try a simple style maybe a pillowcase dress www.simplicitynewlook.com/simplicity-patterns/it-s-so-easy/1411/#.VPouyUYvnVo
