Lengthening net curtains

I bought a couple of pairs of net curtains in the charity shop earlier.

They are new and very wide (like my windows). The first curtain fits one of my windows perfectly (yay!). The second is the right width but too short (gah!). I'd like to try and lengthen them Hmm. They are weighted at the bottom so I thought I might unpick the top and add some material.

Will this work or am I deluded? Any suggestions appreciated... They are a pale cream colour with a very faint dot-type pattern. A bit shiny up close but look good when up (as good as nets can be really!).

You shouldn't need to unpick the top...it should work providing you choose the right material for the top...something of equal weight to the net....you can just stitch the extra part on top of the existing hem.

Could you stitch a line of lace across the join? Then match it on the curtain that's ok. Good luck

Are both windows the same? Any chance they'd fit the other way around, or maybe just need shortened?

How short are they? Could you tab top them with some ribbon? Or hang them lower on the window itself...this only works if the window has a big surround/frame

Go completely net retro and make them into cafe nets?

Get some fancy flapperesque fringing and add that to the bottom??
