What is this fabric called?

I am looking for something like the fabric you get on kids fancy dress costumes. It looks like some sort of slightly stretchy polyester/nylon but when I search polyester I get cotton looking fabric. Does anyone know the correct name?

Thank you. I think it might be elastane. I just hope i can use a normal sewing machine as I don't have an overlocker.
