Ok, so when you go to paint your own pottery type places, they have sort of squeezy pen/bottles for doing fine detail work or writing.

Can you buy those bottles and would they work with acrylic paint? Dd wants to a piece of work which is made up of dots/patterns, I think she would find that easier to control than a paint brush and better for getting even sized dots.

Any ideas what I am talking about or where I could get it?!Grin
Thanks

google paint dispenser bottles. It brings up all sorts from the really fine ones to the big ketchup type.
IME the squeezy bottles are actually quite tricky to use as the amount of pressure required to get the dot size you want varies with how much is left in the bottle. Let her have a good practice before going on to her final article.

If I was doing lots of dots I would buy an Acrylic pen, it's like a biro/felt tip with various size tips but pre loaded with acrylic paint. I use them for making personalised wall 'graffiti ' paintings. They're great for dots and fine lining etc.

I use Posca paint pens btw Smile

Thanks!

Dd is painting on stones and they need to go outside. Will those pens be suitable?

They are acrylic so for outside stuff I'd recommended a coat of yacht varnish tbh. It's quite cheap for a little tin.

Halfords do special squeezey bottles you put your own paint in for precision touch ups on cars. That might work.

Good idea, might have a look at those too!
