New sewing machine arrived under the tree and I'm beside myself with excitement…. now where can I get she fab fabrics - I like big chevron, geo styles, I've had a good poke around online but not found anywhere too focused, all very chintzy / liberty style?
would welcome suggestions
Am mids based but happy to buy online
thanks

May be too obvious but have you tried Ikea? Iirc you can browse but not order online

fabric rehab is good.

whereismagic · 30/12/2014 00:23

Marimekko?

Again apols if too obvious but I just googled 'Scandinavian fabric' - seems to be some large geo print contenders among those suppliers?

Have a look at the Running Chicken website, she has some lovely fabric which is bold and bright.

What are you planning to make? I've found there are a lot of contemporary fabrics out there, but they're all for quilting and not suitable for dressmaking. I'd like to find modern prints for dressmaking.

Try Plush Addict as well. Rather a large site which takes some navigating round.

I was going to suggest ikea, they have some wonderful fabric. Of course, it helps that I live 15 mins away from one so it's not difficult to get to.

Try this www.husandhem.co.uk

Another vote got Fabric Rehab. Postage is very reasonable and good service.

Rubbishisthebest · 30/12/2014 11:18

Scandinavian fabric

nevergooglebrandybutter · 30/12/2014 14:23

yup, I order from fabric rehab fairly regularly and they are very quick to deliver and have never had any problems with them.

fabric inspiration is pretty good too but the website is less user friendly although perhaps more stock so you have to hunt a bit for anything scandi. its good for retro prints though. my mother is delighted with her half naked cowboy print pinnyGrin
